AvaTrade Partner Code 128979: What Actually Happens When You Use It
Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Nope. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code won't affect it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.
Bonus amounts?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Minimum to open an account is $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.
Where to enter the code
When you're signing up. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
If you see an error, it's fine. Finish signing up. Message your account manager before you deposit. Request partner code 128979 be added. They handle this regularly.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
A trading volume condition applies.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Slower if you're trading micro lots. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
The deposit belongs to you. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
One thing worth knowing: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
